Catering to the Community

Why Volunteer?

For You
Volunteering feels good! Volunteers at Sweetwater Creek State Park enjoy our wildlife and history, try new things, get to know the staff and visitors, spend volunteer time with family or special friends and share their expertise to help us with unique projects.

For Us
Some of the ways we accomplish our purpose are through:

  • Guided Informative History Tours to the Mill Ruins
  • Children’s Fishing Rodeo
  • Arts and Crafts Shows
  • New Manchester Days (History and Reenactment)
  • New Manchester Descendants Family Reunion
  • Assisting Park Personnel with Park Maintenance and their Special Projects
  • Assisting Park Personnel at the Visitor’s Center on weekends
  • Fundraising Programs to Raise Money for the New Visitors and Interpretive Center
  • Wildflower Walks
  • Researching the History of the Park and Town of New Manchester
  • Maintaining Butterfly Garden
  • Rivers Alive Cleanup

Our regularly scheduled membership meeting is held the third Saturday of every month at 9AM at the Volunteer Office.
